Automated Business Services was formed in 1990 for the purpose of providing automated payroll/time management services using Pay Express throughout the Carolinas. Today PAY EXPRESS is available nationwide to any company of any size!

Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Rick has lived over most of the world as a service brat. He himself, served two years in the U.S. Army as a programmer at West Point Military Academy, West Point, New York. He graduated from NC State University, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In 1977 he moved to Columbia, South Carolina as the fifth employee and first salesman for a small computer company that now has hundreds of employees and a worldwide customer base.

After spending nearly 30 years in the computer business doing everything from programming, systems analysis and sales to executive management, he formed Automated Business Services (ABS) in 1990. At that time ABS provided payroll and time management services to clients in the Carolinas. ABS now serves over 100 clients in 12 states from Florida to California.
